Is Santa Real?

Some may not believe Santa is “real.” Some time ago, as you grew in age, it was seemingly discovered that Santa is an imaginary person. However, many of us have wanted a better answer for a long time. I’ve given it careful thought to know just what to say.
The answer is NO. There is NO “real” person called Santa.
Our parents and loved ones filled our stockings with presents. They wrapped the gifts under the tree, the same way their parents did for them, and the same way we have done, or would do, for our children too. I hope many parents will continue to do this for their children. Parents will cherish the memories of their children running to sit under the tree, their small faces lit with Christmas lights, opening Santa’s gifts.
However, this doesn’t make Santa “REAL”.
I’ve come to understand that Santa is bigger than any person, and his work has gone on longer than any of us have lived. What he does is simple, but it is powerful. Santa teaches us to believe in something we can’t see or touch.
Santa has a big job, and it’s an important one. Throughout our life, we need this ability to believe in things we can’t measure or hold in our hand. I’m talking about LOVE. That great power that lights our lives from the inside out, even during life’s darkest, coldest moments.
Santa is a teacher, and we are his students. Now you know his secret of how he gets down all those chimneys on Christmas Eve: he has help from all the people whose hearts he’s filled with joy and love. With love in our hearts, we help Santa do a job that would otherwise be impossible.
So, NO: Santa is not a “REAL” person. But Santa is all those things we need to believe in that we can’t see or touch: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
So, I believe in Santa. I’m on his team. I hope you are too. Merry Christmas and God bless you, your families and all that you love that is good.
